Who are we and what do we do?
The nursery team
Our team consists of our Manager, Miss Marie Jailler, our Deputy Managers, Ms Claire Aitken and Mrs Tracey Lincoln who is also our Early Years Teacher, our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, Mrs Susan Slape and 6 qualified teaching assistants.
Day to day operations are led by the Manager in conjunction with the Deputy Managers, who plan together and use their strengths, skills and knowledge to teach and assess the children's progress. Their specific areas of responsibility are as follows:
Miss Jailler- Finances and Administration;
Miss Aitken - Care and Welfare;
Mrs Tracey Lincoln - Early Years Curriculum.
The curriculum
The Foundation Stage Curriculum is designed to teach children key learning skills, such as, speaking, listening, concentration, persistence and co-operation, in order that they may become independent learners.
It also develops early communiction, literacy and numeracy skills that will prepare young children for "big school". The Foundation Curriculum is broken down ito six areas of learning:
- Personal, Social & Emotional Development
- Communication, Language & Literacy
- Mathematical Development
- Knowledge & Understanding of the World
- Physical Development
- Creative Development
